Les Talents SATI is an art competition dedicated to emerging artists from European art schools.
Once a year since 2014, Café SATI has invited participants to propose a project on the façade of its roasting plant located at the Rhine port on the border between Kehl (Germany) and Strasbourg (France).
One selected project is yearly produced, benefiting from expertise, funding, and exceptional visibility in the public space.
The competition is open to emerging artists (individuals or collectives) enrolled in or recently graduated from partner art schools.
For each project, at least one member must be:
Launched in 2013 through a collaboration between the Schulé family, owners of Café SATI, and the Haute École des Arts du Rhin, Les Talents SATI has grown into a cross-border initiative, welcoming young artists and art schools from neighboring regions. Over the years, it has become a key platform for emerging talents, bringing contemporary art into dialogue with urban spaces and the industrial world.
Its success is built on a unique synergy between art schools, Café SATI’s long-term commitment, and the expertise of a professional jury.
Now a leading annual arts sponsorship program, Les Talents SATI supports the professional development of emerging artists, providing them with opportunities to experiment, create, and engage with new audiences.
Our mission is to elevate young talent, foster new spaces for artistic expression, and strengthen the connection between art, industry, and local communities.
Boldness, creativity, and local engagement define Café SATI’s commitment to the arts. Les Talents SATI acts as a creative incubator, constantly pushing artistic boundaries and making contemporary art more accessible to all.
Nicolas Schulé, CEO of Cafés SATI, explains why he created les Talents SATI.

One hundred years, is a period that exceeds the span of a lifetime, a space where time thickens, settles, leaving visible or invisible traces.
This theme echoes two stories that have reached this symbolic milestone: those of the Port of Strasbourg and Cafés Sati. Two trajectories inscribed in a territory, in repeated gestures, in successive generations. But “Centenary” is not a commemoration or a look back at the past.
It is a vast, almost abstract notion. It speaks of the long term, of what persists and what disappears, of what transforms without breaking, of what spans the ages. It evokes memory, visible or silent transmissions, legacies, continuities, new beginnings. It can be matter, sensation, narrative, symbol.
‘Centenary’ imposes no form or direction.
It can be rooted in reality or entirely imaginary, intimate or collective, concrete or sensitive. It can be situated yesterday, today, tomorrow — or in a time that belongs to no calendar.
It is a word that opens up a space.
It is up to each person to bring their own perspective, obsessions, questions and way of inhabiting time to bear on it.
